Radeon RX 6600/6700/6800 XT: RADV vs. PRO Vulkan Driver Performance

Total War: Three Kingdoms saw much better performance on RADV than the PRO Vulkan driver. I'm told by AMD that this big difference is due to Total War: Three Kingdoms on Linux using a driver-specific workaround for the AMD packaged driver. That driver-specific workaround is no longer necessary but ends up causing a more expensive code path to be used and that is why its performance is now suffering. AMD is working with Feral to hopefully remove that driver-specific workaround.

With GravityMark as a new benchmark developed by a former Unigine Engine developer, the 21.30 "PRO" driver stack did have a consistent measurable lead over Mesa 21.3's RADV.

Vulkan ray-tracing for now is only viable when using the "PRO" packaged AMD Vulkan driver.
