The aging BioShock Infinite game on OpenGL saw about 8% better performance since late 2017.

The Dota 2 OpenGL performance meanwhile improved a lot: the RX Vega 56 was better by about 20% while the RX Vega 64 hit 22%.

With Dota 2 not being too GPU demanding, the power difference was significantly better on the latest AMDGPU driver stack with the average power consumption being lower by 50+ Watts. On the original launch driver the Vega GPUs were stuck to usually running at their peak performance states while with the more recent Linux kernel releases the AMDGPU driver has much better Vega PowerPlay support.

The RX Vega 64 performance with Dota 2 on Vulkan is faster by 50%! This is due to both Vega optimizations and general RADV Vulkan driver improvements. At launch the Vulkan performance in Dota 2 was slower than the OpenGL renderer while now the performance is comparable as was the case with RX Vega 56 or a few frames faster on the RX Vega 64.

Dawn of War III with OpenGL shows nice improvements as well over the course of the Vega Linux driver support.
