Core i7 7700K vs. Ryzen 7 1800X With Ubuntu 17.04 + Linux 4.12
But when hitting single-threaded workloads, the Core i7 7700K does better.
OpenSSL continues to have strong optimizations for AMD CPUs.
The Intel Kabylake desktop system does better with Redis.
The i7-7700K was also better as an Apache web server.
The Ryzen 7 1800X with the latest Linux kernel and latest MSI BIOS still lost to the Core i7 7700K in all of the OpenGL Linux gaming tests but in the Vulkan runs was getting closer to Intel Kabylake. If you are running just heavily threaded workloads or a Linux build environment, the Ryzen 7 1800X continues doing great while for single-threaded workloads, AVX heavy loads, and other select workloads the i7-7700K continues doing better while costing less.
