Examination:

Unlike the previously reviewed Treasure TS01 and MS05 eSATA Enclosure, the Raven RVS01 has a faux leather and plastic finish. The faux leather is on the outside while the plastic just reinforces the product's design from the inside. Such an exterior on a disk enclosure is not common at all. Besides just a unique exterior, the interior is also unique, especially with how quickly the SATA drive itself can be accessed. All that is needed to physically access the drive is to just flip up the top side of the enclosure. Yes, it is that easy. It also makes the installation and removal of the drive incredibly quick and straightforward. This flip-top is secured via a magnet.

From the inside of the drive enclosure, the vibration dampening feet can be seen along with the PCB that provides the Serial ATA power and data connectors. This disk enclosure is actually completely tool-less! With a 2.5-inch SATA drive everything should just fit right into place.

The connections on this enclosure include eSATA, USB, and one +5V DC connector used by low-power systems. All of these connections are concealed behind the magnetic flap on the faux leather enclosure. Exposed through the leather on the top side is a blue LED strip for indicating power/activity.
