Tagan BZ 900W
The last time we had looked at a Tagan power supply was last October when exploring the Tagan ITZ 1300W and comparing it to Thermaltake's ToughPower 1200W power supply. While most enthusiasts don't need power supplies in excess of 1,000 Watts, for those that do the ITZ 1300W did perform admirably but its voltage rails did fluctuate some, though it did have the "WOW" factor on its side thanks to the stunning paint job. Since then Tagan released a new power supply, which has a maximum power output of 900W, boasts six +12V rails, and is modular with LED indicators for each cable. This new power supply is the Tagan BZ 900W, and today we are reviewing it at Phoronix.

While the Tagan BZ 900W didn't arrive in a leather case, like we had when reviewing the Tagan TurboJet 1100W, the packaging for this 900W power supply was still first-rate. The Tagan BZ 900W arrived in a semi-large cardboard box complete with a plastic handle on the top. Inside the box was the modular power supply and then a separate (very nice looking) mesh bag had contained the power supply cables and accessories. Included with this power supply were also a rubber PSU vibration dampener, mini screwdriver, ABS bezel, power supply manual, and even a pair of anti-static gloves. The power supply itself was encased inside of a black mesh bag as well, but was double-bagged inside of a bubble-wrap shell.
Tagan has done a great job with the contents and the presentation of all the accessories, though the anti-static gloves and mini screwdriver may be of little use after the power supply installation. We are most fond of the mesh bag for all of the power supply cables. With modular power supplies where all of the cables aren't in use, we end up storing the excess cables in their original box. However, those boxes are often very large. With the Tagan BZ 900W we can now store the extra cables in this much smaller and convenient bag.
