Toshiba OCZ RD400 NVMe SSD Benchmarks On Linux
With the SQLite embedded database benchmark we were surprised previously at how poorly the Samsung 950 PRO performed in comparison to the other NVMe and SATA 3.0 SSDs. With the Toshiba RD400 it also hits this oddity with SQLite and performs even worse than the 950 PRO. Real strange and unfortunately no explanation at the moment why some NVMe SSDs perform so badly for this particular test.
With FIO for random reads the RD400 NVMe SSD did come out as the fastest.
Or second fastest for random writes.
With the sequential reads/writes, the RD400 was coming in right behind the Samsung 950/960 NVMe drives while the Intel 600p NVMe SSD was slower.
