NVIDIA's Linux Driver On Ubuntu 14.10 Can Deliver Better OpenGL Performance Than Windows 8.1

Unigine Tropics at 4K was also much faster with the latest NVIDIA Linux driver than the latest NVIDIA Windows driver. It's not as if the NVIDIA Linux driver is newer than the Windows driver, but the Linux driver is actually a month older than the latest Windows driver: 343.22 vs. 344.48 WHQL.

Valley is Unigine's newest tech demo and at 1920 x 1080, the Windows driver offered just a very slight (~3%) lead over the Linux binary blob.

With Unigine Valley at 4K, all graphics cards were running below 30 FPS and the results about the same between Windows 8.1 and Ubuntu 14.10.
