XMir Performance Measured On Ubuntu 13.10
Overall, when using the Mir packages found in the Ubuntu 13.10 release archive the performance impact was very minor for 2D (Qt4) and for 3D/OpenGL games running full-screen. Good job, Canonical! Still, there are other non-performance bugs and missing features to be addressed before Mir will be shipped by default in a future Ubuntu Linux release. There's also still the issue of binary driver support for Mir, but at least NVIDIA is moving in the right direction. It remains to be seen though whether Canonical will decide to ship Mir in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.
