Arch Linux, Clear Linux & Ubuntu Against Windows 10/11 On Intel Rocket Lake
While not a focus of the tests today, here are some graphics tests of the Radeon VII across the operating systems tested.
The GravityMark OpenGL tests were yielding very similar performance between the Radeon Windows driver and the open-source Linux graphics stack. Clear Linux was the only distribution hanging when launching GravityMark with AMD graphics.
Unigine Heaven's demanding OpenGL benchmark favored the Linux distributions with RadeonSI Gallium3D over the AMD Windows closed-source OpenGL at 1080p but flipped positions at 4K.
Unigine Valley meanwhile saw similar performance at 4K.
The Paraview workstation visualization software largely saw similar performance across the tested operating systems but with a few exceptions.
When it came to Vulkan compute tests, the results were mixed depending upon the particular workload/application.
