Windows 11 WSL2 Performance vs. Ubuntu Linux With The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

Like with prior Windows Subsystem for Linux benchmarking on Phoronix, for the pure CPU-focused benchmarking WSL2 can provide performance nearly the same as running Linux bare metal on the system.

SVT-AV1 benchmark with settings of Encoder Mode: Preset 12, Input: Bosphorus 4K. Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS was the fastest.

But for some areas like video encoding there can be upsets where the WSL2 performance on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS was a ways behind the bare metal Linux results... This in part likely comes down to CPU frequency scaling differences between within Windows 11 / WSL2 and Ubuntu Linux itself, given with these same workloads it's also where we have seen some noticeable differences when comparing CPU frequency scaling drivers/governors.
