ARM today made public they've validated their first multi-core 64-bit ARMv8-A test chip based on TSMC's 10nm FinFET process.

Their first 10FinFET chip should yield big performance and efficiency gains over their current 16FinFET+ process. They announced the 10nm multi-core test chip via this press release.

Their 10FinFET chip is codenamed "Artemis" and is expected to be the successor to the Cortex-A72. More details on Artemis are expected to be announced in the weeks ahead. When the chip does officially launch, it's also expected to feature a new ARM Mali graphics processor.
