Back on Halloween there were patches published to provide Allwinner A10 display engine support via a new DRM driver called sun4i-drm. We hadn't heard much more about that driver until this week.

Free Electronics has now published the second version of this Allwinner A10 display engine support and is now up to 26 patches. The new patches are now re-based against Linux 4.4 and has various other code changes.

If you are interested in Allwinner hardware on Linux and want to learn more about this forthcoming DRM display support, see the V2 patch series. The work is too late for making the Linux 4.5 kernel merge window but hopefully something can be prepped and reviewed in time for Linux 4.6.
