The Allwinner DRM driver added in Linux 4.7 continues to be worked on and one of the latest efforts by the open-source community is on enabling Allwinner Display Engine 2.0 "DE2" support.

Some Allwinner SoCs like the V3s have a new display engine and it's taking more than one thousand lines of code for enabling this Display Engine 2.0 atop the sun4i DRM driver.

The initial Allwinner Display Engine 2.0 patches can be found via this patch series but do note they haven't yet added any HDMI, TV encoder, or other internal bridges support to this DE2 code.
