Alpine Linux 3.6 Release Brings PPC64LE & s390x Support, Updated Packages

The lightweight Alpine Linux 3.6 distribution is now available as the newest stable version for summer 2017.

Alpine Linux 3.6 adds support for POWER little-endian systems (PPC64LE) as well as 64-bit IBM z Systems (s390x). Some of the notable package updates in Alpine Linux 3.6 are Rust 1.17, GCC 6.3, LLVM 4.0, PHP 7.1, Go 1.8, Python 3.6, nginx 1.12, Ruby 2.4, and much more.
