Google officially unveiled Android M today from their I/O 2015 conference today.

Android M is the next major Android update due out in the third quarter of this year, which is mostly about improving the experience set by Android 5.0 (Lollipop) last year. Android M will bring Android Pay as an upgraded version of Google Wallet and to compete with Apple Pay, a brand new App Permissions feature, a Doze deep-power-savings state primarily for benefiting Android tablets, and various performance/efficiency/reliability improvements over Android L.

Android M will also have an improved Chrome web-browser, the Android Intents built-in app linking system will see improvements, and there's also native USB Type-C support.

While Android M won't be officially unveiled until Q3, Google is making a developer preview of Android M available today for the Google Nexus 5 / 6 / 9 devices along with Nexus Player.
