UBUNTU
Beginning next week the BQ Aquaris E5 pre-loaded with Ubuntu Phone will become available in Europe.

While BQ has been selling the Aquaris E4.5 with Ubuntu, next Tuesday they'll begin selling the Aquaris E5 with an Ubuntu Phone option rather than just Android.

The BQ Aquaris E5 Ubuntu Phone is speced the same as the Android version: a MediaTek MT6582 SoC with 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 and Mali 400 graphics. There's 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage and a 5-inch HD display. The actual chassis for the Aquaris E5 is made of plastic.

The specs aren't too compelling compared to the 64-bit ARM SoCs now on the market and the build construction isn't anything special, but this Ubuntu Phone will retail in Europe starting next week for €199.90. There's no word yet on the BQ Aquaris E5 Ubuntu Phone becoming available outside of Europe.

Meanwhile, the Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Phone will start selling in Europe next month for €299.99. The higher price for this Ubuntu Phone will get you much better build quality while the MediaTek MT6595 is faster with a 2.0GHz big.LITTLE configuration, 2GB of RAM, 16GB storage, and 5.3-inch IPS display.
