Earlier this summer Cypress semiconductor acquired Broadcom's wireless "Internet of Things" business. With that associated IP, Cypress has begun making public NDA-free data-sheets on associated chipsets.

Former Phoronix intern Eric Griffith pointed out that Cypress has begun publishing specification sheets and other technical documentation on Broadcom's wireless hardware that was acquired. The datasheets can be found via this Cypress.com search.

This includes data-sheets on the BCM88335 802.11ac, BCM89359 802.11ac, BCM43143 802.11 b/g/n, CYW20736 Bluetooth, BCM43362, BCM4334, and much more. The specifications appear to be fairly thorough and for some of the chips include over 100 pages of information. All of this public information will hopefully be useful in improving some of the Broadcom wireless Linux drivers.

Cypress acquired Broadcom's IoT business this summer for $550 million USD. More details on that here.
