Debian 8.0 "Jessie" is still working towards its long-awaited release.

Cyril Brulebois, representing the Debian Release Team, today announced the release of the Debian Installer Jessie RC2. This second release candidate of the Debian installer for Jessie has changes to systemd, tasksel, console-setup, and other components. The upgraded Linux kernel also has a few hardware support improvements. The DI's U-Boot also now supports the LeMaker Banana Pro board and A20-OLinuXino-LIME2.

Those interested in trying out this updated installer for Debian 8.0 Jessie can find out more via the mailing list release announcement. Debian 8.0 is still working towards its official release sometime soon, which originally was hoped for at the start of the year but sadly didn't pan out.
