Developer Claims: "A New, Fast & Unbreakable Encryption Algorithm"
An unheard of independent developer has proclaimed designing a new, fast, and unbreakable encryption algorithm. While he admits to not being a mathematician or cryptoanalyst, he's wanting to get this encryption algorithm in the mainline Linux kernel and distributions.
Ismail Kizir claims that that his "Hohha Dynamic XOR Encryption Algorithm" is "practically impossible to break", is production ready, and is ~80% faster than the fastest mode of AES. The code is dual-licensed under the GPL and MIT license.
Before getting too excited about this Hohha encryption algorithm, it's probably too good to be true and several developers have already taken various issue with the code per this kernel mailing list thread. The code isn't currently available in Git or patch form but seems to be maintained and updated via this blog post page. The Hohha seems haha for now at least when it comes to being a strong encryption algorithm.
