The Enlightenment crew were hard at work during the holidays and today in getting the new year going they've released the first alpha of the Elementary 1.13 library.

Elementary, a toolkit / widget set for the Enlightenment environment and part of the Enlightenment Foundation Libraries (EFL), is out today with a new alpha release.

The Elementary 1.13 Alpha 1 release adds a config font hinting API, various theme-related work, the icon themes now use standard FreeDesktop.org names, and a large number of fixes. One of the fixes that stand out is that this release fixes Elementary's drag-and-drop (DnD) support on Wayland.

The list of Elementary 1.13 Alpha 1 changes can be found via this Git commit. The release was done by Stefan Schmidt of Samsung, with the Korean company continuing to be the lead sponsor of Enlightenment.
