FEDORA
Since Tuesday's release of Fedora 24 Alpha I've been having a wonderful time trying out this test release with all of the exciting changes building up for Fedora 24.

Fedora 24 has all of the GNOME 3.20 goodies, which alone make it an exciting update. But there are also tons of other enhancements, including many under-the-hood improvements, for this summer update to Fedora Linux.

So far my experience with Fedora 24 Alpha has been splendid. This is yet another release post-Fedora.Next that really feels polished and in good shape while still being fresh and shipping with the latest open-source components.

I still am running Fedora 23 on my most-main production system that I use for all my daily business tasks, but after using F24 Alpha on some test boxes for a few days, June can't come soon enough to make the upgrade.

Linux 4.5 is powering Fedora 24. Fedora 24 is also one of the first tier-one Linux distributions shipping the soon-to-be-released GCC 6 compiler stack.

DNF continues to be working out well as Yum's replacement.

All of the other package updates make for a great, bleeding-edge experience. This Wiki page details some of the other changes.

Fedora 24 is currently scheduled for release on 7 June. Stay tuned for more thoughts and performance benchmarks of Fedora 24.
