With Fedora 25 set to ship this coming week, feature development for Fedora 26 continues to heat up.

One of the latest change proposals for Fedora 26 is to ship debugging information in static libraries. Currently RPM strips static libraries of debugging information while this change proposal is to stop the stripping process in the name of a better debugging experience. This change would need to happen before a mass rebuild of the Fedora 26 archive.

More details on the proposal via this Wiki page and bug report. There is some concern about this proposal though in that unstripped static libraries are "huge" in size and would be better off just moving all of the debugging information to the respective -debuginfo packages.
