PHORONIX
As an update to the post last night about the Phoronix Forums going through a major upgrade, the forums should be running though more tweaks and alterations are still ongoing this weekend.

While I remain frustrated with vB5, the new forum software is still being tweaked to make do for the time being. The feedback thus far is, of course, mixed with those that like the new theme, etc. At least now the forums should handle mobile devices much better.

For those paying to other threads in the forums, a new main Phoronix site is in the works that is better mobile friendly, etc.

As the last PSA update for now, those (primarily European) users that have been seeing bogus ads -- especially ones trying to redirect you to an app store -- that will hopefully be resolved now. After having enough frustration in trying to track down these poor quality ads sneaking into IDG's ad network that predominantly handles our advertisements, for all non-US mobile web traffic (and all German web traffic in general) will be served by Google AdSense. Google tends to do a good job in making sure these frustrating ads aren't part of their network, but worst case scenario their system makes it much easier for me to block out URLs of bad ads when reported to me. So for those users encountering such malware-like ads in the past, etc, if you encounter them again please let me know -- I don't tolerate ads like those either. Of course, you can also subscribe to Phoronix Premium to enjoy ad-free viewing of the site while doing a lot to help out the site.

Your feedback, as always, is welcome by contacting us privately or publicly via the forums.
