One week after the debut of the GCC 5.1 Release Candidate, a second release candidate was made available today in facilitating last-minute testing of the big GCC 5 compiler update.

Red Hat's Jakub Jelinek did a Saturday update to GCC by tagging the second version of GCC 5.1.0-RC. Jakub has thus far bootstrapped and tested the new RC on i686 and x86_64 Linux. Those wanting to do some weekend testing of GCC 5 can find the details via this mailing list post.

GCC 5 brings many new features and is currently planned for release next Wednesday, 22 April.
