GCC Compiler Patches Implementing AMD HSA Revised For Merging
Martin Jambor at SUSE has sent out the latest set of patches for implementing support for the AMD-backed Heterogeneous System Architecture (HSA) inside the GNU Compiler Collection.
For the past month they've been aiming to mainline GCC HSA support with hopes of getting it into GCC 6.
Martin commented on today's patches that it took a month to get out the revised version due to re-basing against the latest OpenMP 4.5 changes as well as incoporating the developer feedback from the earlier patches. More details via the patch series.
Hopefully the HSA support will still make it for the GCC 6 release in 2016, since the feature development ended last month but there is the possibility of release exceptions.
