Nautilus & Calendar Improvements Plus More For GNOME 3.18

GNOME 3.18 is under heavy development and already thus far this cycle we've seen GTK+ do away with Windows XP support and integrate other toolkit improvements along with other work like in-progress file manager improvements. Here's more of the GNOME 3.18 work items to get excited about.

GNOME contributor Georges Stavracas has blogged about some of the features he's working on for GNOME 3.18. Among his work is a new calendar manager for modifying/removing calendars from a system, keyboard navigation support for the calendar, the calendar week view has been redesigned, and there's going to be a new event editor.

GNOME Files (a.k.a. Nautilus) is going to see a new network and drives page, a better sidebar, bookmark management improvements, new dialogs, and other changes.

Some other GNOME 3.18 items being tackled is the new GTK+ image viewing widget, a better chatting experience for Polari, and improved Android interaction with GNOME. More details via this blog post.
