Happening next month in Portland, Oregon is GNOME's first US-based conference.

The Libre Application Summit (LAS) is the new event hosted by GNOME. It's described as like "a userland version of the Linux Plumbers conference." There will be discussions at LAS about Flatpak and other application technologies.

GNOME LAS 2016 runs from 19 to 23 September at the Eliot Center in Portland. The schedule isn't entirely filled in yet but there will be talks by Alexander Larsson (of Red Hat, Flatpak, etc) and Matthew Garrett, among others.

For those in the Portland area, the fee for registering to attend LAS GNOME is donation-based. Those wishing to learn more about LAS GNOME can visit las.gnome.org. I look forward to the event at least remotely with any video streams / PDF slides from the event next month.
