Florian Müllner announced the release today of Mutter 3.21.91, the near-final version of this compositing window manager and Wayland compositor for the upcoming GNOME 3.22 desktop.

Mutter 3.21.91 changes primarily revolve around last-minute Wayland improvements. Wayland improvements include initial support for the XDG-Foreign protocol, support for monitor rotation, XDG-Shell V6 support, using the same output naming logic on Wayland as is used on X.Org, and some fixes. XDG-Foreign is explained here and the new XDG-Shell version.

Mutter 3.21.91 also now handles unsupported buffer sizes more gracefully and has other bug-fixes and clean-ups. More details via this pull request.
