GNU Bash 4.4 was released today with a wide variety of new features and changes.

There is a wide smothering of new features in Bash 4.4 such as some new environment variables (EXECIGNORE and BASH_LOADABLE_PATHS) to new arguments supported by built-in commands like kill to other behavioral changes. There are also many changes to Readline with this release.

It's quite a lot of different changes, so if you rely upon Bash heavily, you're best off checking out the complete Bash 4.4 change-log.
