GNU Hurd 0.8 & Mach 1.7 Released

There's a new release of GNU/Hurd available today.

The GNU Hurd adjoined by the Mach micro-kernel are out with their first new releases of the year.

GNU Hurd 0.8 has the netfs library use lockless reference-counting primitives, a new interface in the integer hashing library, bug fixes for the native fakeroot tool, and the devnode translator and hurd-slab library landed.

Within GNU Mach 1.7 there is support for newer versions of GCC, many bug fixes, support for caching unreferenced VM objects unconditionally, integration of the physical page allocator from the X15 kernel was done, gsync synchronization mechanism added, support for profiling kernel code from user-space via sampling is now possible, and other changes.

GNU MIG 1.7, the Mach Interface Generator, now has a test suite and various coding improvements.
