Building off yesterday's release of Linux 4.3 is now the GNU Linux-libre 4.3 kernel. As usual, the GNU Linux-libre kernel strips-out/disables code from the mainline Linux kernel that depends upon binary-only firmware/microcode files and other non-free components.

With the GNU Linux-libre 4.2 kernel, the GNU developers were upset over the firmware usage by the Intel and AMDGPU DRM graphics drivers. With GNU Linux-libre 4.3, the developers criticized AMDGPU once again -- this time for adding more binary firmware files.

The GNU Linux-libre maintainers also cautioned against Intel and Qualcomm/Atheros Bluetooth hardware and now Intel Skylake sound support too. Skylake sound support was added to Linux 4.3 but apparently there too the code isn't "free" enough for GNU Linux-libre.

There was also a warning for Intel HFI1 Infiniband, STMicro c8sectpfe dvb platform and Samsung s3fwrn5 NFC drivers as needing firmware blobs.

More details on GNU Linux-libre 4.3 via the release announcement.
