Version 0.6 of the GStreamer VA-API plug-ins is now available. These GStreamer plug-ins expose video encode/decode for GStreamer that's backed by VA-API on supported graphics hardware/drivers.

GStreamer VA-API 0.6 plug-ins add support for HEVC/H.265 video decode and encode, VP8 encoder support, JPEG encoder support, and support the EGL windowing system. There's also support for the H.264 Multi-View High Profile encoding format. Beyond that there are many bug-fixes with this update.

More details on the GStreamer VA-API open-source update can be found via the mailing list announcement.
