There were a lot of exciting Google announcements yesterday in kicking off the company's annual I/O conference while today there's a big piece of news: the Google Play store is coming to Chrome OS. Yes, all Android apps.

Google is making all Android apps available on Chrome OS for Chromebooks and Chromeboxes via Google Play, their world's largest app store. All Android Apps will be able to run on Chrome OS through a new Linux container based implementation they've been working to offer 100% portability of Android apps to Chrome OS without any performance penalties or feature limitations... Now hopefully in the future this will be available on the Chrome browser so we can see Android apps running on the Linux desktop via Chrome.

The roll-out of Google Play to Chrome OS devices will begin this summer with select hardware. More details via the Chrome Blog and Android Developers Blog.
