Imagination Announces The PowerVR Series7XT Plus With OpenCL 2.0 Support

Imagination has announced the PowerVR Series7XT Plus graphics processor from the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The PowerVR Series7XT Plus is the latest from Imagination Tech in the PowerVR 7 series. Special about the PowerVR Series7XT Plus is that it now has OpenCL 2.0 support! This OpenCL 2.0 support complements the OpenGL ES 3.2 support as well as the forthcoming Vulkan API support.

The Series7XT Plus includes the GT7200 Plus and GT7400 Plus models. The GT7400 Plus has 128 ALU cores while the GT7200 Plus has 64. These new GPUs are designed to perform particularly well for vision and computational photography workloads.
