Ingo Molnar has already been sending in his many Git pull requests for the newly-opened Linux 4.5 merge window.

One of Ingo's pull requests that will be of interest to at least some Phoronix readers is for the perf subsystem. Coming to Perf in Linux 4.5 is support for Intel's Knights Landing Xeon Phi, Broadwell-EP uncore PMU support, core code improvements to Perf, various fixes, cycles:ppp support for Skylake, Intel PT enhancements, AMD cache event fixes, and a lot of tooling changes.

More details on the plethora of perf changes for the Linux 4.5 kernel can be found via this pull request.

For the benchmark enthusiasts out there and perf users, in case you didn't know, the Phoronix Test Suite can interface with perf too!
