We're Still Waiting To See If KDBUS Will Come For Linux 4.3

LINUX KERNEL
While a lot of features/changes have merged so far for the Linux 4.3 kernel, one feature you won't find at least not yet is KDBUS.

After originally being proposed for inclusion into Linux 4.1, KDBUS didn't make it earlier this year. It wasn't proposed for Linux 4.2 when in June, Greg KH mentioned he wouldn't push it until Linux 4.3.

We're now just a few days away from the closing of the Linux 4.3 kernel merge window and haven't seen any pull request issued yet by Greg or others. I also haven't seen any communication on the list or via social media about any expressed change of course for getting KDBUS into Linux 4.3.

The KDBUS code is still being matured. For those who have commented in the forums recently that KDBUS hasn't seen code activity in months, that's due to now being in this GitHub repository under the systemd project rather than GregKH's account. The last commit to KDBUS Git master was two weeks ago while there is a devel branch active as of a few hours ago. There's also a v4.3 branch that was last updated 11 days ago.

We should see soon whether KDBUS will be requested for pulling into Linux 4.3, since if you've been a longtime Phoronix reader or LKML follower, you surely know what Linus Torvalds thinks of big pull requests near the end of the merge window...
