KDE's 20th Birthday Celebrated By Re-Releasing KDE 1
The 14th of October marks the KDE project's 20th birthday! In celebration, the last KDE 1.x release has been re-released with compatibility for the latest Linux distributions.
The KDE Restoration Project has decided to re-release the last KDE 1 release atop a modern Linux system for 2016 while paired with Qt1. The specific release is K Desktop Environment 1.1.2 that's been made to work on current Linux systems with some wrangling.
In addition to working on current Linux systems, this modernized KDE1 port was also brought into the Git era.
Those wanting to learn more information about this KDE1 re-release for the fun of it, read this blog post.
