There's some new artwork coming to the next KDE Plasma update due out next month, including a new wallpaper.

In past articles when showing off KDE Plasma 5 screenshots like in looking at Kubuntu 15.04, there have been several different Phoronix readers expressing their views that the Plasma 5 wallpaper at the time was "ugly", "looks like puke", etc.

If you previously felt that way about the Plasma 5 wallpaper, you can rejoice as with 5.4 there is going to be a brand new wallpaper:

Ken Vermette has been working on the new wallpaper. He and others are also working on new icons. To find out more about the new 5.4 wallpaper and icons, visit Ken's blog. It's also worth reminding readers who haven't already to read Eric's article about how KDE VDG is trying to make open-source software more beautiful.

KDE Plasma 5.4.0 is scheduled for release on 25 August while the beta release is planned for 11 August.
