Krzysztof Nowicki has announced the initial release of the Akonadi resource for supporting Microsoft's Exchange Web Services (EWS).

This addition to the KDE stack allows connecting to a Microsoft Exchange account using its native protocol as KDE developers work towards exposing more Exchange features for KDE PIM users. Today's initial release brings full e-mail support for sending/receiving messages through Exchange and providing full mailbox management.

More details on this Akonadi-EWS component can be found via the KDE-PIM mailing list. The Akonadi component for Microsoft Exchange Web Services can be found via this GitHub repository.
