Bhushan Shah has shared the recent work he's been doing on KDE's KWin to have proper screenlocker integration on Wayland.

Most Phoronix readers should know how screen-lockers/screensavers on X.Org are not secure and have been subject to many complaints and security issues in the past. With Wayland, this can be resolved and Shah has been working on making a secure screen-locker.

KDE's KWin now has a lock-screen on the Wayland session and with the latest code is secure so that only the lock-screen/greeter windows are shown, clients can't steal input events, and other security precautions. The secure screen locker will be found in next month's KDE Plasma 5.5 release.
