While Plasma 5.5 was just released last month with many improvements and appears to be in great shape -- as outlined by Ken Vermette's big review of Plasma 5.5 -- even more great stuff is coming for Plasma 5.6.

Kai Uwe wrote a blog post today looking at Plasma 5.6 additions that offer more convenience for KDE users. There is optional Unity launcher support being added for when libunity is present on the system, media controls from the task manager, device notifier feedback enhancements, and more.

See Uwe's blog post for more on some of these early Plasma 5.6 changes along with screenshots.

The schedules page is currently pegging the Plasma 5.6.0 release to happen on 22 March.
