KDE Plasma 5.2 Beta Brings BlueDevil, Muon & GTK App Style

The first beta release of KDE Plasma 5.2 is now available ahead of its planned official release later this month.

Plasma 5.2 brings various new features and now with the beta release being out there and this quarterly release under feature freeze, we have a better idea for the features.

Among the new components to Plasma 5.2 are BlueDevil for managing Bluetooth devices, KSSHAskPass module to ask for passwords of SSH keys, Muon to install/manage software/addons, an SDDM login theme configuration module, the KScreen system settings module, and the KDecoration library. There's also a new GTK Application Style module to let the user configure themeing of applications from GNOME.

Plasma 5.2 also has work-in-progress items of a touchpad system settings module and a user management system settings module. The Plasma update also supports undoing changes to the Plasma desktop layout, smarter sorting of results in KRunner, new Breeze window decorations, new Plasma widgets, and over 300 bug-fixes.
