Not only was a new beta of digiKam 5.0 released today for ending out January, but KDevelop 5.0 Beta 2 has shipped as the first update to KDevelop 5 in several months.

Similar to digiKam 5, KDevelop 5 is about porting to Qt5 and KDE Frameworks 5. KDevelop 5 has also been advancing with regard to its Clang-based plugin, improvements to the Windows and OS X support, and more.

KDevelop 5.0 Beta 2 isn't only about fixing bugs, but there were some new features added. With KDevelop 5.0 Beta 2 are some Python improvements, a KDE4 configuration migration path has been added, various widgets / plugins were updated, HiDPI support on OS X, and more.

There still are some blocker bugs for KDevelop 5.0, but overall things appear to be shaping up well for this KDE-focused integrated development environment. To learn more about the plethora of changes with KDevelop 5.0 Beta 2, visit KDevelop.org.
