The Khronos Group has made public their slides from the 2015 SIGGRAPH ASIA conference that took place earlier this month.

Khronos President Neil Trevett was presenting at SIGGRAPH ASIA. His presentation isn't too different from earlier talks this year about OpenGL, Vulkan, OpenCV, and friends, like from back in August. However, they're worth going through and there are some updates and new material.

Here's some quick commentary from the slides:

More and more companies turn into being Khronos members...

Here's an interesting slide about the OpenCL implementations from different vendors. Unfortunately it doesn't note that Intel on Linux only has OpenCL 1.2 (with OpenCL 2.0 being a work in progress) via Beignet where as their Windows OpenCL driver is what handles OpenCL 2.0. AMD's Catalyst driver is the sole provider of full OpenCL 2.0 support on native Linux.

A lot of developers in the community are doing nifty things already with SPIR-V.

A look at the OpenGL driver support across vendors and hardware.

As has been known for a while, Vulkan will have window system integration on Linux with Mir, Wayland, and on X.Org via DRI3. Hopefully the open-source drivers finish up their DRI3 issues and enable it by default soon. DRI3 also has performance gains compared to DRI2.

Vulkan is still expected this year.

WebGL 2.0 is coming soon.
