Today is the Khronos day at SIGGRAPH 2016 with several announcements being expected.

Hitting the wire first is word that The Khronos Group has formed an advisory panel around safety critical APIs. This advisory panel is for creating design guidelines for safety critical APIs for use by safety critical system designers.

The most prominent safety critical API from Khronos has been OpenGL SC, which finally reached OpenGL SC 2.0 earlier this year, after feeling for a long time like it took a back-seat compared to other Khronos APIs.

Those having stakes in safety critical systems can learn more about this new advisory panel via Khronos.org.
