The first beta of "Isengard", a.k.a. Kodi 15.0, is now available for testing.

Kodi 15 isn't big on the feature front but is mostly aimed at cleaning up the code-base and delivering other underlying improvements to this popular open-source HTPC software formerly known as XBMC.

In terms of changes exposed to end-users with Kodi 15.0, there's a reworked add-on manager, navigational improvements, Windows DXVA HEVC hardware decoding support, Android HEVC H.265 support for some chipsets, FFmpeg updates, and much more. Interestingly, as part of the big code clean-up, Kodi 15.0 is compiling under C++11.
