LIBREOFFICE
LibreOffice developers have begun maintaining a Flatpak bundle of the open-source office suite. Flatpak is the GNOME-led sandboxing effort formerly known as XDG-App.

XDG-App became Flatpak back in May. With LibreOffice 5.2 Beta, a Flatpak bundle of the office suite is now available for Linux users on GNOME 3.20+ for trying out LibreOffice.

This single Flatpak file contains LibreOffice with the GTK3 back-end, all available localizations, does not use the Java JRE, and there are a few other differences/shortcomings with this bundle and Flatpak itself still maturing.

If you are interested in the steps for trying out a Flatpak'ed LibreOffice, see this blog post. For those behind on their XDG-App/Flatpak reading, stop by the GNOME Wiki for those longstanding technical details.
