Linux 4.2 Advertises GFS2 Performance Improvements

For those using the Global File System 2 (GFS2) for Linux clusters, the Linux 4.2 kernel is slated to offer better performance.

Bob Peterson on Friday sent in the GFS2 pull request for Linux 4.2. Aside from fixes and improvements to quotas on GFS2, there are performance improvements as well as support for rename2 and RENAME_EXCHANGE on this file-system. The performance improvements come from trying to avoid the glock lru_list being a bottleneck, avoiding unnecessary buffer head releases, and using the average glock round trip time from all CPUs.
