After several interesting news items in recent days about Wayland, the latest is that Wayland/Weston now has support for cursor themes.

Patches published this weekend to the wayland-devel list by Christopher Michael allows for cursor themes within Wayland and the reference Weston compositor.

These patches take advantage of the Xorg cursor theme directories for the pointer images, which can then be specified from the weston.ini file.

The Wayland cursor themes work can be found on the Wayland mailing list.
