Calligra 2.5 Office Suite Released

The second official release of the Calligra office suite software, which was forked from KOffice, is now available.

Coming just a few days after the release of LibreOffice 3.6, Calligra 2.5 features improved editing of tables within its word processor, a new stand-alone docker for the cell editor within its spread sheet application, other spreadsheet improvements, usability improvements to the presentation program, new shape connectors for the diagram application, and the Kexi database application has a full-screen mode.

The artistic applications within Calligra 2.5 has a new compositors docker for Krita and an improved canvas handling system. Calligra 2.5 also features new import filters for Visio, MS Works, and xfig filters. The Microsoft Office importing, particularly for MS Office 2007/2010 and OOXML has been greatly improved too.

Calligra Active, the mobile version of the Calligra suite, has also been updated to version 2.5.
